The YWCA Pekin’s Coalition for Equality annually honors the legacy of Dr. King by offering its Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration on the day after the official holiday. Pekin District 108 students are invited to attend the event either in person or through live streaming. Students enjoy a presentation, treats and free books to take home. This event is free to all attendees because of grants, sponsors and generous donors.
