YWCA Pekin Early Learning Center cares for children, ages 6 weeks through preschool (up to age 6), with an early learning curriculum.
The YWCA Pekin Early Learning Center’s philosophy is one which believes that every child has the right to receive quality child care in an atmosphere that is conducive to the child’s development. The child care program prioritizes social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of the child. The social and emotional development priorities (based on the child’s developmental age) include sharing, manners, self-esteem, self-respect, positive self-image, self-discipline, responsibility, problem solving and cultural heritage. Intellectual and physical priorities include development of large and small muscle coordination, problem solving, body awareness, verbal expression, auditory and visual learning, development of listening skills, and creative expression.
